Fuel Index (A measuring stick of a company's success)
Every company has a Vision, a Mission and a set of core Values. Companies develope multiple strategies that implement these Values to relaize the Mission.I always wondered,
- Is there any relationship between a company's Values and company's success?
- Is there any influence of these Values on a company's sustainability?
- Do the company's Values impact other factors of success?
- How do we measure that impact?
The Values of every company should serve as a primary fuel to fan the growth of the ?company-employee' social system.
For Values to produce higher Productivity and instill Creativity while upholding highest possible and attainable Quality in the process, the Values need to thrive in the air of honesty.
Honesty in a company is synonym for courage and is a measure of risk readiness and agility. I define the Fuel Index as one that measures the sustainability and agility of a company.
Higher the Fuel Index the better a company's chances for a successful and sustainable leap from good to great.I suggest to list the company's Values and rank each Value from ?0' to ?2'
in regards to how the Value impacts the "Productivity", "Quality" and " Creativity" (?0' means Value has no impact on ).
Also rank the values from ?0' to ?2' with respect to the risk involved to implement the Value to achieve higher Productivity, Quality and Creativity (?0' being no risk involved in implementing that Value to achieve the goals).

If the Index is 0 to 5The score of 5 and above is a good indicator of sustainability and agility of a company. They have the right mixture of fuel (Values) and air (Risk/Honesty). They need to make sure to maintain and constantly evaluate the strategies that are used for this combustion. That means the company should constantly make sure to have right people implementing the values and performing the checks and balances needed to assure a sustainable growth..

I'm sitting here at my computer desk with a cup of coffee at my elbow. The coffee rest in a mug, the mug garnished with the words Buy, Hold, Sell, Jump, vertically along its sides. Every year nearly 60,000 airplanes take off and land with an estimated 36 billion paper checks at an annual processing cost of $8 billion. Who pays this $8 billion dollars? The banks and credit unions across the nation, that's who. Why do they go to all this effort and expense? Many state commercial codes stipulated that only a canceled check was proof positive of payment. Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) announced today it has raised more than $33,000 in 2004 for its Good Neighbor Energy Fund, which provides assistance to families who need help paying their energy bills.The Good Neighbor Energy Fund is maintained through voluntary contributions from customers and employees of KUA, helping people in crisis throughout Osceola County. Everyone who plays Texas Holdem knows that Ace-King is one of the very best starting hands. But, it is just that, a starting hand. It's only 2 cards of a 7 card equation. In nearly every situation, you want to come out firing with A-K as your hole cards. (The exception would be when faced with a big raise from an early position bettor.) When the flop comes, you need to reassess your hand and think things through before you just assume your overcards are best.Like many other situations in Texas Holdem, knowing your opponents will help you gauge your situation when you hold A-K and see a flop like 9-8-2.
