Collier Pickard Ltd Releases FREE software to perform Telephone Preference Services checks in Maximizer Enterprise
(ContentDesk) July 31, 2004 -- The DTI has announced that the legislation enabling an individual to opt-out from receiving unsolicited telemarketing calls is to be extended to include corporate telephone numbers.
From Friday 25th June 2004 it is an offence punishable by a ?5000 fine to make an unsolicited call to any business from 28 days after it has written to the Telephone Preference Service and registered its telephone numbers.
This means;- You will no longer be able to make unsolicited calls to just any number you see on a letterhead or web site or wherever without first checking that it is not opted-out- You will no longer be able to make unsolicited calls to numbers held in your own CRM database without first checking that they have not opted-outCollier Pickard are pleased to announce the availability of a solution specifically designed for users of Maximizer Enterprise 8.0.Every time a user dials a number from within Maximizer, automatic checks ensure that the recipient has not opted out. Checks are made against the Corporate Telephone Preference Service (CTPS) database operated by MarketingFile.com. Every time a check is made, the customer record in the Maximizer database is updated.
If the number has opted out then the "Do Not Solicit by Phone" field is set in Maximizer, and a note is written to record the date and time that the record was checked. If the number has not opted out then a note is inserted to record that the record has been checked. Additional functionality allows systems administrators to run bulk checks across the whole database or selected records. All of the software, toolbar items, and the phone hook code are provided free of charge to registered Maximizer users. Companies need to enter into an agreement with MarketingFile.com to secure access to the TPS checklist..
